Description

To the north, a soft, shimmering glow begins to ripple across the night sky. The colours deepen, stretch, and dance in graceful waves of green and violet — the breathtaking Aurora Borealis, nature’s most enchanting light show. Experience the wonder of the Northern Lights from a cozy heated cabin or wall tent outside of Whitehorse, where the skies are clear and the magic feels close enough to touch. Enjoy warm drinks and snacks as you watch the lights swirl above on three unforgettable viewing nights. Beyond the aurora, explore the best of the Yukon’s history and wilderness. Enjoy a guided tour of Whitehorse, visit the fascinating MacBride Museum and Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre, and encounter native wildlife at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience dog sledding firsthand and meet the incredible sled dogs that make this northern tradition so special. From glowing skies to northern hospitality, this is a journey that celebrates the beauty, culture, and wonder of Canada’s North.

Trip Itinerary

Depart Vancouver with Air North for Whitehorse, Yukon to begin your Northern Adventure. Upon arrival in Whitehorse visit the Beringia Interpretive Centre where you can explore the treasures of the vanished world of ice age giants and the stories of the first people in North America. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight at the hotel.

Today a local guide joins the group for a city tour of Whitehorse, the largest city in Northern Canada. Surrounded by beautiful wilderness, the Yukon’s capital city is a small city with a big backyard. Next explore the stunning Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Encompassing over 700 acres with various natural habitats it offers unparalleled wildlife viewing, education, and photo opportunities. Tonight is the first Aurora Borealis viewing event which takes place outside the city in a heated cozy cabin or wall tent. It is approximately four hours; there are snacks and hot drinks included.

The group will visit the MacBride Museum of Yukon History for a guided tour. Home to 40,000 objects, their galleries illustrate stories from Yukon First Nations, the natural world, the Klondike Gold Rush, and more. Enjoy an afternoon to explore on your own before another Aurora Borealis viewing.

Today is an experience few will get to have, dog sledding! Meet the amazing dogs who pull the sleds and have the opportunity to ride the sled yourself. This is a memorable highlight for many past guests. Tonight is the final Aurora Borealis viewing night.

Depart Whitehorse for Vancouver on Air North with memories and no doubt many photographs of your Northern Lights adventure.
