Activity Level 4: This tour is designed for active, on-the-go travellers who are comfortable with extended periods of walking and standing. You should be able to manage a moderately paced 2.5-hour walking tour covering several miles, including hills and uneven surfaces, and walk up to four miles per day. Climbing stairs and getting in and out of various modes of transportation is expected, as is coping with elevations between 6,000 and 9,000 feet.
Some days will be longer, with early mornings or late nights balanced by free time. This tour is not suitable for travellers requiring mobility assistance devices.

Today is yours to relax and ease into your surroundings after your travel day. You may choose to enjoy the comforts of your hotel or venture out to explore San Jose - a lively city filled with historic neighborhoods, galleries, markets, and diverse flavours. Welcome to Costa Rica’s Central Valley, the country’s vibrant heartland—a fertile plateau framed by towering volcanoes and alive with the perfect blend of city culture, coffee country, misty cloud forests, and endless opportunities for adventure. Begin your journey with a visit to a local coffee plantation, where you’ll learn how this iconic crop is grown, harvested, and roasted, and why it has long been a cornerstone of the Costa Rican economy.
