This morning, travel north along Vancouver Island from Campbell River to Telegraph Cove. Enjoy time to stroll the boardwalk of this charming and historic seaside community. Named for the coastal telegraph station built here over a century ago, Telegraph Cove is a renowned whale-watching outpost that has preserved its original character as one of the West Coast’s last remaining boardwalk communities. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. Later, continue on to Port Hardy for an overnight stay at the Kwa'lilas Hotel.
Today, travel aboard BC Ferries’ Northern Expedition from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. This iconic journey follows one of British Columbia’s most elusive and storied ferry routes, navigating the 315-mile stretch of water known as the Inside Passage. Settle in and enjoy the ship’s onboard amenities as it winds through some of the most rugged and breathtaking scenery in the world. Keep watch along the shoreline for wildlife, including orcas and porpoises in the channel, and look for remote Indigenous villages tucked into sheltered bays and islands along the route, including those in Queen Charlotte Strait. Upon arrival in Prince Rupert, transfer to the waterfront Inn on the Harbour for a two night stay.
Prince Rupert sits on the edge of the wilderness, sheltered within a protected inner harbour and encircled by islands along the famed Inside Passage. Ideally located on British Columbia’s North Coast, the city has long played an important role in trade with Asian markets. Today, enjoy a guided coach tour of Prince Rupert, including visits to the Museum of Northern British Columbia and the North Pacific Cannery National Historic Site, where the region’s history comes to life. Late afternoon is free to explore the waterfront community of Cow Bay.
relax as the train follows the mighty Skeena River, travels through the Yellowhead Pass, and crosses British Columbia’s interior. Meals and beverages are available for purchase onboard. Overnight in British Columbia’s hub city of Prince George at the Best Western Plus.
Travel along the historic Gold Rush Trail, learning the stories of pioneers who journeyed north during British Columbia’s Gold Rush of 1862. Stops along the way include Chasm Provincial Park, with lunch at the historic Billy Barker Casino. Overnight in Clinton at the Cariboo Lodge.
Today, the coach winds past Lillooet and British Columbia’s High Country, following the dramatic Duffey Lake Road through a landscape of rugged mountains, alpine lakes, and forested valleys as it passes through Pemberton, Whistler, and Squamish. The journey concludes along one of Canada’s most spectacular routes, the iconic Sea-to-Sky Highway, where towering peaks, cascading waterfalls, and sweeping coastal views provide a memorable finale to your adventure.
