Trip Itinerary

Take the morning ferry to Vancouver Island. Our first stop today is a visit to Finnerty Garden located at the University of Victoria. Then its on to Government House and a tour of its amazing garden. Our three night stay is at the Inn at Laurel Point, all rooms have water views. Dinner tonight is at a local Victoria eatery.

After breakfast depart for the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific which features a Mediterranean garden, Takata Japanese Garden, and Doris Page Winter garden, to name a few. Following that visit we will travel to Abkhazi Gardens in the heart of downtown Victoria. This garden and teahouse have a rich, romantic history: The Prince and Princess Abkhazi began creating their garden in 1946. Begin with a high tea lunch followed by a guided tour of the garden.

Today we experience Victoria as seen through the eyes of Canada’s leading painter and writer, Emily Carr (1875 – 1945), as we meander through the historic community of James Bay and Beacon Hill Park with its seaside vistas. Hear the colourful stories about this unique woman and the independent path through life that she chose.

Travel from Victoria for an early lunch at the Fireside Grill and a visit to Butchart Gardens.
