Enjoy breakfast at the Viking World Museum before visiting Kleifarvatn Lake, colourful geothermal areas, and the bubbling hot springs of Gunnuhver. Continue into Reykjavík for an orientation tour of Iceland's vibrant capital before checking into your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax or begin exploring this fascinating city at your own pace.
Enjoy a leisurely morning before travelling to Iceland's world-famous Blue Lagoon. Surrounded by ancient lava fields, soak in the warm mineral-rich geothermal waters while taking in the remarkable volcanic landscape. Return to Reykjavík this afternoon with free time to continue exploring Iceland's colourful capital.
Travel by ferry to the Westman Islands, a fascinating volcanic archipelago lying just off Iceland's south coast. Visit the remarkable Pompeii of the North Museum to learn about the dramatic 1973 eruption that buried much of the town beneath lava. Later, enjoy a scenic boat cruise around the island's spectacular coastline, where towering sea cliffs, volcanic rock formations, caves, and abundant birdlife create unforgettable scenery. Overnight in Vestmannaeyjar.
Return to the mainland and journey east along Iceland's breathtaking South Coast. Visit the magnificent waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss before exploring the fascinating Skógar Folk Museum. Travel beneath the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano, whose 2010 eruption captured worldwide attention, before arriving in the Kirkjubæjarklaustur region for a two night stay.
Discover the spectacular beauty of Skaftafell National Park before visiting breathtaking Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Cruise among floating blue icebergs while watching for seals resting on the ice. This unforgettable glacial landscape is one of Iceland's most photographed natural wonders.
Travel west through Iceland's beautiful interior, stopping at the interactive LAVA Centre to learn about the volcanic forces that continue to shape the island. Continue into the scenic Þjórsárdalur Valley before visiting Friðheimar, where geothermal energy is used to grow tomatoes year round. Meet the famous Icelandic horses before continuing to the Geysir region for a two night stay.
Experience Iceland's legendary Golden Circle. Visit Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet and Iceland's first parliament was established over 1,000 years ago. Continue to the Geysir geothermal area to witness Strokkur erupting high into the air before visiting the spectacular Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland's most iconic natural attractions.
Visit the Hellisheiði Geothermal Exhibition to discover how Iceland harnesses its remarkable geothermal energy before returning to Reykjavík.
