Trip Itinerary

Depart Vancouver on a direct flight with Air Canada. Upon arrival in beautiful Québec City check in to the well appointed Le Capitole Hotel for a two night stay.

Explore the historic walled city of Québec with a local guide to see the Place d’Armes, the Laval Seminary, the star-plan Citadelle, and the Place Royale. Also see the Old-world houses crowding the narrow streets in Lower Town by the St. Lawrence River, and the historic Plains of Abraham, in the French-founded city port, and capital of Canada’s Québec province. Enjoy leisure time this afternoon.

Depart Québec City and travel along the St. Lawrence River into the scenic Charlevoix Region. Stop in Baie-Saint-Paul, a charming town known for its invigorating fresh air, postcard-worthy setting, and vibrant arts scene, home to a contemporary art museum and numerous galleries. Continue through historic La Malbaie to Saint Siméon to board the ferry across the river to Rivière-du-Loup, then travel onward to Rimouski, gateway to the Gaspé Peninsula. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Rimouski.

Begin your grand tour of the Gaspé Peninsula, known for its sweeping views of sea, beaches, and cliffs. Continue to the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site to visit the Empress of Ireland Museum and learn about the tragic 1914 shipwreck—Canada’s worst maritime disaster. Explore the impressive lighthouse, one of the tallest in the country, before travelling through the scenic Matapédia Valley for a guided visit of Miguasha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its 380 million year old fossils. As you drive east through coastal villages, discover Gaspésie’s rich cultural mosaic shaped by English Loyalists, Acadians, Basque, Irish, Jersey Islanders, and First Nations peoples. End the day with an overnight stay in waterfront Carleton-sur-Mer, the heart of the beautiful Baie-des-Chaleurs.

Start the day with a visit to the Kateri Tekakwitha Church, a teepee-shaped building showcasing Mi’kmaq artwork, and view the colourful wigwams of Gesgapegiag. Continue to the Pabos Interpretive Centre to explore over 250 years of coastal seigneury history through its open-air exhibits and enjoy a taste of local cuisine. Travel on to the charming village of Percé, where the iconic Percé Rock rises dramatically from the sea—a massive limestone formation dating back to the Devonian period. Settle in for a two night stay in this picturesque community, with dinner served at the hotel.

This morning enjoy an unforgettable cruise around Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island, home to 250,000 nesting seabirds—including puffins—and the largest Northern Gannet colony in North America. With dramatic cliffs, rich marine life, and 375 million years of natural history, this is a truly exceptional experience.
In the afternoon, visit Percé Geopark, a UNESCO-supported site featuring a suspended glass walkway with stunning views of Percé Rock and scenic geological trails. Enjoy some free time to stroll the lively seafront promenade, filled with boutiques and cafés, before ending the day with a fresh lobster dinner at a local restaurant.

Gaspé, or Gespeg in Mi’gmaq, meaning “land’s end,” offers a rich blend of nature, culture, and history. Located at the tip of the peninsula, the town is known for its vibrant downtown, warm maritime hospitality, and stunning setting where mountains meet the sea. Enjoy a scenic coastal drive past villages and sheltered coves as we continue to Forillon National Park, the official start of the International Appalachian Trail. Explore its fishing hamlets, pebble beaches, quiet coves, and dramatic landscapes of boreal forest, unique geology, and abundant wildlife. Visit the historic Cap-des-Rosiers Lighthouse, the tallest in Canada, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
This afternoon features some of the peninsula’s most spectacular scenery—soaring cliffs, lighthouses, and expansive views of the St. Lawrence. Pass through Cap-Chat, home to 133 wind turbines and the tallest vertical-axis turbine in the world. Continue to Matane, known for Nordic shrimp, coastal windmills, and the Matane River, where locals fish right in the town square! Enjoy a two night stay with dinner at the hotel.

Begin the day at the renowned Reford Gardens, an extraordinary horticultural achievement featuring over 3,000 native and exotic plants. Created between 1926 and 1958 by horticulturist Elsie Reford, these 40-acre gardens showcase beautifully designed spaces built under remarkably challenging coastal conditions. Stroll through 15 themed areas — including the Linear Garden, Stream Garden, and Bird Garden — and admire unique varieties such as the celebrated Himalayan blue poppy.
Continue to Vignoble Carpinteri, a local winery and Italian-style villa, for a delightful lunch and wine tasting. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring downtown Matane before regrouping for dinner.

Travel from Matane to Rivière-du-Loup for a relaxing stop and an included lunch. This charming city, set on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, is beautifully framed by both the Rivière-du-Loup and the majestic St. Lawrence, offering scenic vistas in every direction. After lunch, continue your journey as we bid farewell to the Gaspé region and make our way back to Québec City. Settle in for the night at the Hôtel Manoir Victoria, then join the group for a special farewell dinner—the perfect moment to reflect on your unforgettable Gaspé adventure.

Enjoy time to explore Québec City at your leisure before your mid-afternoon flight back to Vancouver. With the hotel perfectly situated in the heart of Old Québec, you’ll have the ideal opportunity for one last stroll through its charming streets, historic landmarks, and inviting cafés—one final taste of this beautiful, unforgettable city before returning home with memories of the Gaspe Peninsula.
