Trip Itinerary
Depart on a morning flight to La Belle Province, Québec, to experience the magnificent colours of autumn. Arrive in Montréal and check in to the centrally located Hotel Le Cantlie Suites for a three night stay. Join the group for a welcome dinner.
This morning enjoy a three hour city tour with a step-on guide featuring Ste-Catherine Street, Saint-Helen's Island, Mont Royal, St-Joseph’s Oratory, The Old Port, Place Jacques Cartier, an included visit to the Notre Dame Basilica, and much more. The afternoon is yours to enjoy and explore. The evening features a delicious dinner at a local restaurant and an opportunity to explore Old Montréal.
Today our destination is the picturesque Eastern Townships area with breathtaking autumn scenery and quaint villages and towns. The group will visit the Abbey of Saint-Benoit-du-Lac, founded in 1912. Situated in a beautiful rural setting the abbey produces cheese, ciders, and candy. Next is the lovely town of Magog. Have time to explore this lakeside community and savour a lunch bursting with local flavours. After a leisurely tour of this beautiful region return to the hotel for time on your own.
Depart Montréal and travel along the Chemin du Roy, the first carriage road linking Québec to Montréal built in 1737. It follows along the St. Lawrence River. Along the way the group will experience a French Canadian tradition at Sugar Shack Chez Dany, including lunch and live entertainment. Arrive in historic Québec City, the heart of French Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a two night stay at Le Capitole Hôtel. Dinner tonight is included at a local restaurant.
Tour Canada’s only walled city, crowned by the great turrets of the Château Frontenac. Old Québec is one of the best-preserved cities in North America. Highlights include the Place d’Armes, ancient Place Royale, Cape Diamond, the Joan of Arc Garden, Grand-Allee, Parliament, the Plains of Abraham, and much more. The afternoon and evening are yours to relax and enjoy.
After breakfast, depart the hotel for beautiful Montmorency Falls (1 ½ times taller than Niagara Falls). A highlight of this day will be a stunning train ride on the Charlevoix Light Rail Transit. The train hugs the St. Lawrence River shoreline revealing otherwise inaccessible scenery with the final destination of Baie-Saint-Paul. Baie-Saint-Paul boasts two hundred year old houses in the traditional Québec style. The next two nights will be spent in the Charlevoix Region at the incredible Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, known as “The Castle on the Cliff”. This evening will include a delicious dinner at a restaurant in La Malbaie.
Tour this spectacular area by coach and soak in the sights of the Québec countryside in the fall. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the many amenities of the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu. A scrumptious farewell group dinner at the hotel will be a fitting conclusion to the trip.
